How is Stress Impacting Your Job Search?

How is Stress Impacting Your Job Search?

It's only your entire future we're talking about! So let's examine the stress and excitement of seeking new opportunity, and the impact of this potential change on you AND your family!

While I deeply appreciate and empathize with the stressful difficulty of going through the search process, and I understand the significant amount of struggle that goes with just not knowing a predictable future, I will herein preach a series of tips for making sure you're successful!

You might be awfully tempted to stay home and "work on your job search". Don't get stuck there! So often I have people tell me that they're too busy with their job search to get out and do activities. These are likely the very activities that WOULD give you the connections you need to become employed!

Activities don"t necessarily have to cost you money. Yes, most communities, and certainly Santa Clarita Valley as an example, are full of big, expensive fund-raising events that could lighten your wallet. But there are also countless opportunities to roll up your sleeves, and make a difference to an organization about which you care, all the while meeting and gaining the respect of the people next to you!

I've known professionals who have so impressed their volunteer colleagues that they've been recruited outright from these connections. On the other hand, I've known professionals that have stayed home and completely distanced themselves from their own good connections. Which are you, and will your career suffer or thrive from it??
